apple, lemon, and kale with green juice

Green Lemonade

by

I love warm weather! Who doesn’t, right? But when it gets too hot for comfort, I run for cover… and to get a refreshing drink. That’s how my green lemonade came about.

On a particularly hot day this week, I got tired of frying by mid-afternoon and headed in to find something cooling and refreshing. I found the three ingredients I used to make my lemonade and got busy making myself some juice.

Lizzo sang about blaming her boots for her success.

I would sing about my juice.

Specifically, this green lemonade. Did I mention it only has three ingredients?

I used a handful of kale, a honey crisp apple, and half a lemon. That’s it. No sugar. Nothing else. Pour it over some ice and enjoy. You can thank me later.

If you don’t like kale, don’t sweat it! Use a different green like spinach, Romaine lettuce, green lettuce, red lettuce, a superfood mix of baby lettuces. It’s your choice! Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of them. Just don’t use Mustard greens or you will be in for the biggest surprise! (And not in a good way.)

Drinking this green lemonade will make your body “bootylicious,” in the words of Beyonce.

Okay, so here’s that recipe…
